Merry Meet, Dear Seeker!
Today i would like to share with you what Goddess I believe in. As you may have already guessed, I will also being doing a section of this dedicated to what Gods i believe in. I will be including why I believe in them and what they are the Goddesses of.
Athena
Athena is a Greek Goddess. She is the Goddess of victory in military combat, strategy, and wisdom. She is the daughter of Zeus and was born when Hermes broke up Zeus' head; Athena came out of his head (according to Greek Lore). She is the patron Goddess of Athens. She can be worshiped by the lighting of a fire and through prayer and other means.
I believe in her because I have always been drawn to her. Since I was six years old, I have always loved pictures of Athena and stories about her. As i grew older, my love and connection to the Goddess only grew. She is my role-model. She is the Goddess i relate to the most. I would recommend to anyone that they should read the story of Archina, the web spinner.
Bastet/Bast
Bastet, originally Bast, is an Ancient Egyptian Goddess. She is the Goddess of, at first, the sun and the lion and, later, she became that of the cat and moon. Cats are sacred to her. She is a protective Goddess.
I believe in her because, when I was younger, I was attacked by a demonic, or negative, entity; a shadow-man to be exact. A glowing white cat came and protected me from the being. I believe that Bastet might have sent this cat to protect my sister and myself. My sister had also been attacked that night and the same thing happened to her.
Hecate
Hecate is a Greek Goddess. She is The Triple Goddess. She is the Goddess of the moon, witchcraft, the night, magic, ghosts, and necromancy.
I believe in her because, at the very start of my Year and a Day, I felt her presences. I was meditating when it was interrupted. I was trying to clear my mind by visualizing myself meditating when, within my meditation, I felt myself be forced to open my eyes. I found myself looking at the woods outside of my home and it was night time. Normally, the woods at night feel uninviting, but this night was different. I walked into the woods and found myself surrounded by moonlight. It was here that I connected with Hecate for the first, but not the finale, time.
Frigga
Frigga is a Nordic Goddess. She is the Goddess of love, destiny, and marriage. She is also the weaver of fate. She was the original Mother Goose.
I believe in her because I feel a connection to her. I trust my feelings and my intuition, which she actually helps us stay in tuned with our intuitive nature. I'm still working out all of my feelings and connections to her, but i know that a connection is there.
I am still working out all of my believes. I am still on my Year and A Day, though I know I may take longer than that to learn all that I need to know. It will be a long journey for me and I hope to continue making these posts as I go about that journey.
